The scarf was hand-dyed using a jeweled turquoise blue, alter-ego silk dye. The alter ego dye process leaves two beautiful effects - a shiny effect on the bamboo patterns, border, and fringe (viscose) and muted turquoise blue color on the silk sheer backing. After dyeing, the scarf was steamed for several hours, hand washed/rinsed with fabric soften, hung dry, and ironed.
Care Instructions: Some silk dye run-off may occur during initial washings. Hand-wash, separately, with cold water and mild detergent. Add fabric softener when washing and/or rinsing. Gently wring and hang to dry. Use a wide toothcomb, and gently comb to untangle the fringe, after dries. Use a hand-held steamer, or gently iron on a silk setting/wrong side to remove wrinkles. Store in a mesh or cloth bag, or hang on a velvet hanger. Because the scarf is hand-dyed some variations in color may be seen.
